31/12/13: What’s better than a big brand name bash on New Year’s Eve?
Why two brand bashes of course! One party was not enough for the folks at Barcode to say ta-ta to 2013 and ra-ra to 2014. Ringmaster Robb White manned the decks as always to welcome us in with Tin Tin’s trademark groove. DJs Alex Georgiou, Kurt Potter rounded out the front house share of the action with transcendent deep bass and uplifting nu disco.
In the main room, the appropriately titled ‘Higher’ took us there on the beats of some serious drum’n’bass courtesy of DJs Steve Artis and Mattias Dado. An absolutely packed house braved the wind and rain to bring sunshine into every dark corner as we danced ‘neath cannon fire confetti and dazzling pyrotechnics by Bubbles. Newcomers Tony Guerriero, Veronica Paulin, Raquel Olivera and Ze Pereira gasped “Oh my god! Is it like this all the time?”
