The world is full of conundrums. Like politicians saying one thing and doing something completely different. I’m just saying – everyone says they’re obsessed with saving the planet and sustainability but at this time of year we’re all busy overdoing it (but at least our hearts are in the right place). Oh dear! And I haven’t even touched on other world news if you know what I mean, no I’m not going there.
So yes, let’s get festive from now on in if you haven’t already. On Thursday 21st November I’m hosting the Karaoke Hole with Just May. Yeah it’s the Princess Julia Karaoke Awards Ceremony 2019. I haven’t done one for a while and it’s always good fun! From 10pm till 2am straight after the screening of the Drag Race UK Final. Well, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to viewing it because you can pop to The Glory too!
Speaking of which, it’s actual Crystal’s LIVE Drag Race UK Grand Finalé at the Dalston RIO cinema Thursday 21st starting at 7pm. Crystal is staging their own Crystal’s Creatures Pageant with performance and a cash prize! Official afterparty at Dalston Superstore 9pm till 2:30 with DJs Michelle Manetti and Jacob Aria! Basically head up to Dalston tonight! Who will win?!
More drag mayhem at the Cookie Jar party at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club on Friday 22nd November where the theme this month is ‘Mimes + Fools’. Hosts Wanda Whatever, Miss Bliss and Disgrace bring the party and introduce performance from Prinx Silver, Shakona, Stella Marbles and J’adore is Vie. DJs Kasey Riot, Alexis Knox and Yoko Fomo. Get down there for the opening at 9pm.
Back with a bang, the very cool Pink Glove – a ‘Queer Pulp Indie/New Wave Post Punk Disco’ at the MOTH club in Hackney Central on Friday 22nd November with DJs Michael Kelly and Heidi Heelz on the decks! Get glam, join the gang. 10:30pm – 3am.
It’s a zine, a calendar and a club night… MEAT is at the Dalston Superstore on Saturday 23rd November. Join The Meat Boys as they host and DJ along with Gaff E, Mario Valente b2b with Nic Fischer in the bar. In the basement it’s Stella Zekri b2b with Fannar and Marie Malarie. Go-go dancing on the bar included…Barbs and Max The Hybrid! 10pm-3am!
Hey South London, I haven’t forgotten you…PopTarts is on at the Eagle on Saturday 23rd. Join Johnny Kalifornia and Neil Prince for an unadulterated, indulgent, poptastic night of classics from all eras. 9pm – 4am.
I popped over to Horse Meat Disco -also at the Eagle – the other week, who celebrated 16 years on non-stop disco! It’s on every Sunday with resident and guest DJs who know their stuff! 8pm ‘til 3am.
Stay up at Dalston Superstore for a classic A Man To Pet Brunch on Sunday 24th from, midday – 4pm. Pet will be prancing around urging you to go vegan, save the planet and wear upcyled drag while you eat your smashed avocado on toast and have a ‘hair of the dog’! Gentri’drag’ifcation I just made that up but I bet A Man To Pet’s got something to say about that.
We can’t wait for this…very important news! The Gold Rush Grand Final of series 3 on Sunday 24th November at The Glory. Taylor Trash introduces this infamous drag competition as it reaches it’s climax with an array of new stars ready to take over and rule. Doors 1pm…showtime 7pm. theglory.co
We’re also booking in for a queer rave up! Chapter 10 is back on Saturday 30th November and they are saying farewell to their spiritual home at BLOC for one last time after which they will be relocating! Starts at 11pm till the morning with surprise DJ guests of the highest order plus resident Charlie Porter!
