14/06/14: Saturday night was England vs Italy and the entirety of Soho seemed to have descended upon flagship venue Ku Bar for footie, boys, balls and booze. Whether everyone’s eyes were glued to the screen because of the talented action, or the action going on in those little shorts we couldn’t hazard a guess, but it made for an atmosphere that only Ku and its legacy courtesy of esteemed owner Gary Henshaw could create.
From elegant black and white striped wallpaper to sparkling crystal chandelier, the bar was packed with punters and decked with St George Cross bunting to celebrate our lads’ chances on the field. Red and white Ku printed helium balloons soared to the ceiling, the flags of all the nations flew above the bar, and inflatable footballs were everywhere you could turn – Ku had gone football crazy!
So, alas maybe our boys didn’t win, but the boys behind the Ku bar were looking beautiful as always, with their tops off and the beer flowing – and as the bar upstairs closed for the evening we descended down to Ku Klub for our regular dose of pop, hotties and dancing, courtesy of DJ Peter Prince. Another great night at the great Ku.
