#JULIASAYS – Discerning scene musings from the Princess of East London

I’m a fashion fan! Some might think that’s a bit vacuous of me but what do I care? There’s a lot to get dressed up for this weekend! Very important indeed… it’s the Trans Pride March on Saturday 14th! It’s also London Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2020, so a major chance to support our creative friends in that world and get a glimpse of future lewks!


After all those fashion shows, the night unfolds at Homostash – Fashion Edition at Dalston Superstore on Friday 13th September. Pulling out all the ‘fashion’ stops, join Parisian cutie DJ De Vedelly, joined by Adriana Bradford and Tafkanik in the basement. In the bar, DJs Fannar and Pavliné, plus gogo dancing from Danny Campbell-Fox and fashion trendsetter Radwan Ridwan hosting! 9pm – 3am!

Fashion and style are all about sustainability don’t you know! So at ShayShay’s Gender Jumble Sale upcyle, recyle, grab a stylish bargain and help good causes – all proceeds go to Mermaids UK who work with trans youth and their families. It’s at Dalston Superstore on Saturday 14th, 12 midday – 4pm. mermaidsuk.org.uk

Make a dash for it; London Trans + Pride: The March 2019 starts at Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner from 1pm onwards on Saturday 14th. The march ends at Soho Square.

After which, the London Trans Pride official after party is at the Garage in Islington with special guest Brooke Candy performing and all superstars from the scene including Kevin Le Grand, Chiyo Gomes, Lucia Blayke and Shakona Fire plus DJ sets from Lewis G Burton and Adriana Bradford and gogo dancing stars from HARPIES.  Starts from 11pm, goes on until 4am.

Big one for our fave gay rave, yes it’s the Adonis 2nd Birthday on Saturday 14th at The Cause! This is going to major day to night non-stop fun starts at 4pm till 6am… DJ roster OMG! Gideön, Omer, Hannah Holland, IDA, Wilson Phoenix, Sonikku, Grace Sands, Josh Caffé, Remove Me, Sugarbear, N-Gynn, J Aria and the one and only SHAY MALT!

Feeling like you can fit in an intimate show with Baby Lame? Then celebrate the infamous Shit Show 4th Birthday at The Glory on Saturday evening 14th September from 8pm – 9:30pm. The cast of Blanche Du Bois, Lilly Snatchdragon, Queerstory, and Rodent await you with open arms!

Back with a fashion flourish, Bollywood bash it’s Hungama: Fashion Week Party on Saturday 14th. It’s at the newly launched Colours Hoxton, in Hoxton Square. Tonight from 10pm join the line up of DJ’s…Ms Lanji, Lil India, Shimmy Hendrix, Aisha Mirza, Nadine Artois. Performance from Bolly Illuision and Minara El Waters, hosted by Zee and Shiri till 3am.

Have you calmed down yet!? Come and relax at my Sunday soireé Princess Julia Loves and this week we welcome drag king Clay Taurus to the stage! On at The Glory on Sunday 15th September from 7pm-11pm.

And still staying at The Glory, the much anticipated drag competition The Gold Rush returns for Season 3 on Monday nights, run starting on 16th September. Hosted by Taylor Trash who awaits you live on stage if you enter, or in the audience for a highly entertaining and enlightening evening of drag discovery! *Well worth venturing out on a school night, you will not be disappointed!*

HARPIES  brought to us by Transmissions and Birds taking place on Saturday 21st at Metropolis. Theme ‘Pleasure Politics’. London’s first LGBTQI+ strip club. 10PM till 5am
