Discerning scene musings from the princess of East London!

Having a good time is exhausting! In a good way…doing the rounds and supporting all the great things going on in our community is exciting and rewarding.

Our weekend starts with Haus of Slopulence at The Karaoke Hole on Thursday 16th May. It’s a bit of a pick-and-mix night, with special guests popping up all over the place just like the karaoke selection at this, the only LGBT+ karaoke venue in London. 8pm till 2am.

This weekend I get to DJ at The Cock Tavern along with Jonjo Jury on Friday 17th May. It’s one of our fave pub late night discos over in Kennington. On till 2am, we’ll be playing a selection of your faves. P.S. The Cock Tavern is also home to the notorious Mr Ted’s quiz night on Sunday’s too.

It’s the annual Eurovision knees-up at The Glory on Saturday 18th May from 7pm with a rare appearance from Ma Butcher and Sue Ellen Ryan. It’s a bit of a ritual, with a screening of the actual televised event that as you know goes on for hours. Expect hits of Eurovision, renditions and general misbehaviour till 2am!

More Eurovision madness at Cybil’s House over at BJ’s White Swan on Commercial Road on Saturday 18th May. Expect star turns from the likes of Prinx Silver, Karma and Crystal Lubrikunt. DJ action from Grace Shush, Cybil War, Vivien Mobile Disco and MSC4MSC. 7pm – 4am!

Fancy some live bands? Then DIY Thursdays Women Of Noise Special on Saturday 18th from 8pm to 2am will be right up your street. Hosted by Lyndell Mansfield and this month the DJ skills of Kat Hudson doing the music duties. Situated in Unit 30, Bow Triangle Business Centre, Elenor St, E3… it’s an exciting trek to get to this truly underground night.

We’re keeping up with the brunches this Sunday 19th because it’s Drag Brunch with Fagulous’ Camp As Tits Brunch at the Dalston Superstore. Fagulous works the room like no other. Midday – 4pm.

Time for my weekly mention… Princess Julia Loves at The Glory on Sunday 19th with special guests Uncle Frank & Aunt Xiety. Two character performances  – one person! Uncle Frank performed at MAN UP and now takes to the stage for another time. Starts 7pm goes on till 11pm and free to go.

Then join in Transmissions West African Trans Forum Fundraiser party up at Dalston Superstore from 9pm till 2am, also on Sunday 19th May. DJs Basmati, Lewis G Burton and Pig Daddy. Performances from Lucia Blake and Kevin Le Grand. Raising money for the incredible trans activists on the frontline in West Africa.
