It’s a strange time we’re living in. ‘Gay Trump supporter’ is one of those statements that really makes you stop and think… wait, what? Janet Espejel found exactly how awful it can be when gay sass intermixes with depraved white nationalism.
During these troubling times it seems more important than ever to head out and vote. Having strapped her toddler-aged daughter in the back seat, she set off that morning to take part in early voting polls ahead of the mid-term elections. On her way over, she was given a stark reminder of why it was so important that she play her part in overcoming Trump’s America.
A white man pulled up beside her, and accused her of driving in between two lanes. He then started off on an enraged racist rant, shouting obscenities at the woman in front of her daughter, and got strangely sassy.
“You’re driving in two lanes, you stupid Bitch! That’s not how we drive in America.”
She tires to engage positively with him, by asking if he’d been to vote, to which the man replies:
“Learn English, bitch. It’s my country, bitch.”
Then in trying to humour him, in hopes of de-escalating the situation, she says “yeah, it’s not mine. Right?”.
Things then take a sharp right turn into SASSY, where he goes full privileged white gay and shouts:
“You’re ugly. You need a gay friend to help you with makeup and clothes. HA! Ugly Bitch.”
Espejel, who had been recording the entire incident, points out that her young daughter has been witnessed to all of this. Her footage was then uploaded onto Twitter, in the hopes of identifying the man, and bringing attention to the altercation.

Can we make this pleasure of a guy famous? Twitter is good at taking down racists. Took place in Houston. @MollyJongFast @krassenstein @EdKrassen @MattNegrin pic.twitter.com/Bbh5BpFfRP

The video went viral, and people were quick to put on their Sherlock tweed hats and identify the man seen in the video. Charles Geier, a 58-year-old gay Trump supporter, has since been dubbed Houston’s “toothless racist”.
This video is the second video that has emerged of a gay Trump supporter ranting against a person of colour. Earlier this month a Brooklyn-based driver filmed himself being verbally assaulted by a passenger who sat in his back seat, refusing to get out of the car. The passenger, who has been identified as Robert Oritz, threw an onslaught of racial slurs at the driver who referred to the incident as “a living hell”.
You can see that video here:
Oritz has since apologised for his actions, and denies being racist. He has subsequently lost his job at an urgent care centre.
