That’s the ethos of Papa Loko, who will be celebrating their first full year of parties on Saturday 16th April. After a run of parties at Dalston Superstore, they’ve decided to focus on only a few special events throughout the year, and will be celebrating their 1st Birthday at a new Hackney home: Apiary Studios.
Underground and unashamedly progressive, The Apiary is the perfect hub for Loko, where the best of soul-shaking techno and transcendental pumping electronica becomes a force that brings like-minded party lovers together in a quest for a more positive and life-affirming partying experience.
Like in the Initiatory Temples of the past. you are asked to leave your preconceptions and controlling self behind and enter the venue pure and childlike, ready to party, play and transform the mundane into the profound. In short: leave your attitude at the door!
They will even have a very special “Loko Bar” with a small but carefully chosen selection of organic and locally produced drinks, mind and taste-expansive cocktails made by drink alchemist James Smart (which will include some secret ingredients!) and even natural enhancing medicines from different parts of the world.
