
I love it when people have a go at doing something… this weekend there’s a few arty things going on, a few clubby things and more than a few quirky things to witness.
On Thursday 12th get down to the ICA for something arty. UNPLUCT is a one off evening where DJ Jeffrey Hinton gets together with current ICA Side On artist Prem Sahib in the theatre to show film projects and play music from 8pm till late.
Over at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern UnderConstruction returns on Thursday 12th. UnderConstruction has created an experimental platform for performance artists to delve into their imaginations and test out new work and revisit classics. Doors 7pm, show time from 8.30 onwards.
On Friday 13th catch up with Gloria’s ft. Waze & Odyssey and Kim Ann Foxman at XOYO where in Room 2 The Meat Boys take over plus an all star cast of the most incredible characters of Sink The Pink doing what they do best… dancing and having a real good time. And if you make the effort you’ll be let in for free, 9-4am.
HOMOSTASH is back at the Dalston Superstore on the 13th with a huge line up of DJ’s including resident Tafkanik and guests JVP, Carly Foxx, and in town from Berlin Per QX. From 9-4.30 it’s all about yer moustachioed face fur, if you haven’t got one stick one on, or just admire those with who have an abundance of said face furniture.
Another one for Friday 13th KNICKERBOCKER over at The Yard, Unit 2, Queens Yard in Hackney Wick. Every second Friday of every other month tonights guest DJ’s are The MenWhoFellToEarth 10 till 3am.
If you fancy some Debbie (this month then DEBBIE Loves GARBAGE on Saturday 14th is the place for you. Sina Sparrow and his mate Bitchcakes plus special guest and superfan Tom of Swindon are paying homage to Shirley Manson this month at The Resistance Gallery, 265 Poyser Street, E2. 10-2am.
Over at East Bloc join MOTHERLOAD on Saturday 14th… Guy Williams and D Ramirez delve deep into their House boxes for a non-stop dance session till 6am.
This month Fringe! Film Fest starts up on 24th until 29th November with a full on program of screenings and events.
Highlights include curated event A STRANGELY GLORIOUS OPPORTUNITY by Panos Fourtoulakis on Friday 27th November at 8.30pm and a free screening of cult club film Paint It Pink produced by Richard Mortimer staring our faves from the Sink The Pink Summer Ball including Jonbenet Blonde, Jacqui Potato and Lucy Fizz, 5pm at the hackney Attic on Saturday 28th November. fringefilmfest.com
