8/2/13: Indisputably the poshest voice in pop, Sophie Ellis Bextor was on stage and very much in session for her set on Heaven’s main floor this Saturday!
Three years since she last treaded the boards at the superclub, and back to promote her latest album – ‘Wanderlust’ – the seemingly age-less, ethereal looking entertainer emerged in a sparkly black mini-dress and strap heels to deliver her early 2000’s chart-topping throwback ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’.
With her merry band of musicians rocking behind her to pre-recorded tracks (10 points for sheer showmanship!) Bextor went on to perform a set littered with hits and hits-in-waiting, including new pop-ballad ‘Young Blood’, golden oldies ‘Get Over You’ and – of course – Groovejet’s ‘Spiller’!
Another very Bextor-esque rendition of Modjo’s ‘Lady’ certainly did i’s work for the boys. British pop at its best, and another weekend of Heaven-ly entertainment!
