16/10/15: Vauxhall’s top hedonistic homo hideaway, Eagle London, is famous for throwing absolutely amazing parties, and the Friday Men Inc. productions are one of the jewels in their crown.
We popped along last week as they turned back the clock for ‘This Is Eagle 90’, a celebration of everything from the decade that brought us that ship hitting that iceberg while Celine crooned, a US president that totally did NOT have sexual relations with that woman, and who can forget ‘Barbie Girl’ from Aqua?
Spinning the retro vinyl were the lovely Dan Murphy, Jim Stanton and doyennes of kitsch the Readers Wifes with aural goodies from the likes of Hall & Oates, the Happy Mondays, MJ and Inner City that had us shaking our booty and lip-synching for our lives (it was allowed back then!).
The eclectic crowd were butched up by the presence of the leather boys of MSC London with their monthly gathering and halfway through the night out came a magnificent buffet with very 90s sausage rolls and much more. Big Fun indeed, even with Neneh accusing us of being a gigolo.
