When Karen Harding stormed the house charts earlier this year with ‘Say Something’, it was undoubtedly one of the best original vocals we’d heard in the genre for a while. But then again, so was Fragma. Thankfully, it seems she hasn’t wrapped her career in newspaper and set fire to it like a pile of shit in a teenage prank; ‘You Make Me Feel Good’ and ‘New Love’ are both epically catchy and help to carve a name for an up-and-coming dance legend.
Demi Lovato continues to desperately seek ‘sex symbol’ status with ‘Cool For The Summer’ a punky pop jam. Yeah, we like it, but like Demi, it will tire out quickly. It’s good… for her. But she’ll never be a Britney… Or even a chubby Christina, for that matter.
Taylor Swift surprised recently by dropping a new track… about a boy. Obviously, nobody saw this coming. Totally not the kind of song she would usually opt for. *Rolls eyes*. Which is probably why it sounds like everything else she’s released in the past year – thankfully they were all half-decent though. ‘Wildest Dreams’ isn’t leaving us waking up in a wet patch, but it’s not a nightmare either. Might get a few more listens if she hadn’t closed her legs to Spotify.
White trash dweeb Justin Beiber wept at last week’s VMAs as he performed ‘What Do You Mean?’ He claimed it was because of the positive reception he received but we heard that Nicki unleashed her angry ghetto ass on him too. The song’s alright. But from the video, he clearly now reckons himself as an actor, maybe his first role should be something other than a little bitch.
